Of Course We Could Have Been In New York

Yesterday was a holiday of sorts, a gathering of disparate bloggers, most of whom had never met each other outside the virtual pub of Mad Priest of Newcastle Jonathan's Of Course I Could Be Wrong. I neglected to bring my camera, and so have in the best blogger tradition swiped this picture from Allie.

It was a wonderful time, and I hope we can do it again. You can read more about it at Father Jake's World-Stopping Emporium. I've taken advantage of his links to add some of the folks for whom I didn't have links on my blogroll. What a joy to make these connections more actual as well as virtual!

Well, actually, the best time for some of us was visiting St. James Fordham on Sunday. Seeing Tobias "in action" and hearing him preach was nothing short of inspirational. After reading here for quite sometime I didn't expect anything less than a good sermon, but I was taken with how easygoing, warm, and gracious you are, Tobias, and how that translates not only into welcoming crazy guests but in ministry in your parish. While on the green scale it doesn't quite seem fair that you are not only a gifted writer, thinker, poet, actor, and musician, but also a terrific parish priest, thanks be to God for all your gifts. I am so glad to have met you and to have seen a glimpse of your parish work.

Tobias it was an absolute PLEASURE meeting you. I heard from Grandmere Mimi you gave an excellent sermon on Sunday. One of these days i'll have to make a trek to the bronx to hear you.

All best,

the Reverend boy
